RSS Feed

There is some discussion as to what RSS stands for, but the majority plump for '
Really Simple Syndication'. Put plainly, it allows you to identify the content you like and have it delivered directly to you. It takes the hassle out of staying up-to-date, by showing you the very latest information that you are interested in.

How do I start using RSS feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a news reader. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. All allow you to display and subscribe to the RSS feeds you want.

If you click on the button (rss button on the home page) you can subscribe to the feed in various ways, including by dragging the URL of the RSS feed into your news reader or by cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader.

If you are using Firefox, then look to the bottom right of your firefox window and you should see a orange icon with a signal icon. Click this and click "Subscribe to 'SURFSIZENOW RSS'.

You then click okay on the pop up window, and now you have a 'live' boomark (click the boomarks tab in firefox to view the links).

So whenever a new page or item is added to surfsizenow you can see this throught your bookmark rather than having to come to the site. And this is really what RSS is all about. If you are using a news reader, it will display the new items are in the surfsiznow feed and when they where created, so you can stay uptodate on whats going on at surfsizenow.
